Brief history of Christianity Poem. Before the night was night
And day became day
God was He created light for the day
The earth, filled with water and land;
land abundant with vegetation
water full of life;
Planets and stars for the sky
God put living creatures in the water, on the land, and in the sky
This He did in His time
God made man
from this man he made woman
they lived peacefully in the garden together.
God was light and goodness
Evil was dishonest and manipulative.
Evil fed man and woman the knowledge of good and evil
For this God banished mankind from the eutopian garden
From that moment life became hard work
We have pain and sorrow
Mankind must choose between good and evil
day to day,
minute by minute.In Gods time the earth became populated
Abraham and Sarah
Isaac and Rebekah
Separated by Cain and Abel
The tribes of Israel were formed Great kings and battles
times of persecution and slavery
God was with them through it all. Great leaders
Moses, Solomon, and David
Great warriors Debra, Sampson, and Joshua
Relationships with God. The world became evil
only the good survived
Noah, his family, and the creatures God made
Tossed about, lived, and repopulated the land.
Mankind struggled to choose good
as humans we make mistakes
God gave us His Son
To live as a man
Make choices as a man
always choosing the good we could not.
Jesus was captured
Beaten
Tried
And died as a man From this man the Spirit returned
The Spirit to stay with us
the Spirit to remind us of God
The Spirit of the man who died with your mistakes wearing Him down
Who promises your spirit will not die
But arrive to live with God in the Perfect Place.
As you can see in this brief history of Christianity, our roots are in the history of Judaism. The need for Jesus' sacrifice is very apparent throughout the Old Testament.We have not changed a bit. Humanity remains predictable. We continue to judge each other, have wars in our own homes, neighborhoods, and throughout the world. We continue to think of ourselves first, practice manipulation, and teach our children to scorn and hate each other. Use this brief history of Christianity to remind yourself of the lessons God gives you.
Jesus has taken away your mistakes.
