Definition of Inspiration

"What is the definition of Inspiration?"
Inspiration is personal. When inspired you feel relaxed and content. You become energized and stimulated into action. This action may not be physical. Sometimes you may be motivated to learn. To read and do research about a particular subject. It could be a language, it could be a country, it could be an individual, or it could be a rock.

Other times you might be driven to create. To paint, sew, take photo's, or plant a garden.

You may make a meal or a flower arrangement.
Inspiration comes from everything around you and everything within you. You may see something, hear something, or feel something that connects with your experience. It inspires you and not necessarily those around you.
This is my definition of inspiration because your unique life with it's scars, surprises and accomplishments is yours alone. Your connections are unique to you. So if you are not inspired by some experience and those around you are, there is nothing wrong with you. You will be inspired by what connects to your history.
Once you are inspired you can affect those around you.

Since the 7th century B.C. people often looked to a "muse" for inspiration. A muse is part of a sisterhood of goddesses who are fulfilled through the arts and inspire creativity by their example.(And possibly to amuse?- sorry, I had to) Hmm, a sisterhood, (women), who inspire creativity.
That applies to all of us today. Think about it.

In your role as mother, sister, daughter, wife (or significant other) you inspire those you care for to grow and find their creativity.

The muses of yesterday each had their own talent.
Which muse do you identify with?
Are you the one in charge, like Calliope?

Do you try to learn from each mistake so that history doesn't repeat itself like Clio?

Are you full of love and loyal in your relationships much like Erato?

Maybe you sing or hum like Euterpe.

Do you give comfort when tragedy strikes like Melpomene?

Perhaps like Polymnia you worship with song.

You are the lighthearted one like Thalia if you are gifted with a sense of humor.

You may really shine when you dance like Terpsichore, or gain enlightenment from astronomy as Urania is.

Women's Inspiration is about stimulating your mind and emotions to a higher level of awareness or activity. Others interpret the definition of inspiration as, "believing you receive guidance and influence from the divine directly into your mind and soul."
