Inspiration Awards

Inspiration Awards are a way of bringing notice to extraordinary women.
They are inspirational because they remind us of what few differences these remarkable women have with the rest of us.

With focus and determination, belief in ourselves, and support from each other we are all inspirational.

I will add new awards to the top of this page.
Who do you find Inspirational?

Constantina Tomescu-Ditta

Constantina is a wife and mother. She could be any of us. She has a gift and a joy of running.
She gets the Inspiration Award because she set a goal, worked toward it, and gave it her all.

Constantina didn't win her first big marathon, or the second. At the half-marathon world championships in Canada she was told she couldn't run. She was unable to compete in this years World Championships because of a knee injury. At any one of those disappointments she could have given up.
But she didn't.

Just prior to the Olympic race, her coach told her she could push hard if the pace was slow for the first half of the race. Constantina made a plan to win.
She would leave the pack halfway through the race if she felt good. When she approached the half way point she took off ahead of the pack and kept lengthening her lead.
She had more than a 1 minute gap at one point.

Constantina had a goal, her own inspiration, and a plan.
