Motivation to Learn
It is essential that the Motivation to Learn is held in highest esteem. Because hate comes from fear, fear comes from ignorance, and ignorance can only be changed through learning. The easiest way for us to learn is from books. Books are easily attainable for most of us, and can even be accessed for free from our libraries. We must read! We must read about all cultures, religions, and scientific thought. Only then do we have the right through objective eyes to speak of anothers point of view. Here is one book review. This book will be helpful for your spiritual growth. Please feel free make your comments about it

"Three Cups of Tea" by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin This is a wonderful book that will inspire and motivate you to follow through with your good intentions. That is because this is the factual story of Greg Mortenson and the promise he made to a village in Pakistan.
Do you think you know what life is like in Afghanistan and Pakistan? Do you think you know what most of the population believes? Do you know what their motivations are, and their priorities? You probably don't. We are fed lots of information from the media, and from speeches made by politicians we trust that do not tell the whole story. Their job is to get you attention and keep you wanting more. They write what we want to hear, and what they are allowed to see. Forget the story. What are the facts. What is life like for other women. What are their religious beliefs? What does an ordinary person in that culture think and feel? Use your motivation to learn. Greg Mortenson was a mountain climber who found himself recovering in a small Pakistani village in 1993. Because of the respect and care the villagers showed him, he asked what he could do for them. He was shown a patch of ground that the young boys met at to practice the lessons a teacher left for them every three weeks or so. The leader asked for a school with a teacher so both girls and boys could learn. Greg promised he would build them a school. He carefully asked around and learned the supplies and building materials he would need, and what they would cost. Then he went home to California to raise the money. If only life were that simple. This book chronicles the efforts he made to raise money, the difficulty he had in America and then the problems he faced when he returned to Pakistan.
Many times he became discouraged, and many times he thought of quitting. He made a promise and he saw it through to the end, but it didn't end there. He knew the whole region was in need of education and had great motivation to learn. He continues today even after the terrorists attacks to build school after school concentrating on education for women.Children live what they learn. They can either learn a perverted belief system or a balanced one. If we don't build schools for the children of Afghanistan and Pakistan, and for that matter all children around the world others will. The Taliban knew that children were easily influenced and concentrated on educating them with their mission and beliefs. I urge you to read "Three Cups of Tea"and learn about our sisters living under the poorest conditions in the middle of a war. Start with your motivation to learn. Then when you think of the good deeds you want to do, DO IT! If Greg Mortenson can do it, there is no reason why we can't.
