Self Motivation Tips
Who needs self motivation tips? You do, if you want to succeed. The first thing you need to know is that developing a new habit will take a commitment of 30 consecutive days. Once you make that goal you must make it happen. Do some planning. It’s great to say “I’m going to ______ every day. Nail that idea down. What time are you going to do it? Schedule this event when you are most likely to succeed. You must plan for success. Unfortunately nothing happens on it’s own. You plan when you are going to get up, you plan when you are going to eat, and you plan when you are going to sleep. These are all necessary things you must accomplish to have a successful life. Just as important is accomplishing your goal.
Here’s where self motivation tips come in.
1. Get out of bed each morning. You may need to adjust your usual wake up time in order to fit your new goal in. Do not allow yourself to wait 5 minutes. Get out of bed.
2. You must focus. Once you make a thirty-day commitment you will need to keep that goal in mind from the time you get up in the morning. The minute you give yourself a possible distraction the harder it will become to complete your goal.
3. Place motivational reminders where you will literally trip over them. A picture of what your goal will look like. A favorite quote. Something you did well that will inspire you to do it again. Place one on the bathroom mirror or shower door. Place another in your car if you drive to work. Place one on your desk at work. Perhaps on your refrigerator and another by the door you leave the house through.
4. Now what do you do when you see these reminders? You have two choices. You can smile and feel energized when you find it, or you can think, ”I should go do that now.” and feel tired. Make a conscious decision to be thankful for the reminder and feel good about it.
5. Another self motivation tip is pray. If you are human you can’t accomplish anything without God’s help. Ask for it and you will receive it.
6. Do it! Make that first successful day. Be thankful and be happy with yourself. You are on your way.
7. Here’s where attitude is everything. You could put yourself down and say, ”One day out of 30, big deal” Or you can choose to embrace the feeling of accomplishment and let it fill you up. Really know that you made the right choice and it will only get better from here.
8. You must allow yourself to feel emotion. The easiest way to accomplish anything is to get passionate about it. You must really want this. Make it a big deal in your life. If it doesn’t really matter you won’t want to see this through to your final goal.
9. Reward yourself. What have you been wanting to do but have held off because it would take too much time, or you would have to go alone, or it was too expensive? Do it for you. And the next time you make a step toward your goal reward yourself again. These don’t have to be extravagant awards, just an extra boost to your day.
10. The final self motivation tip is end your day with prayer. Give thanks for the blessings you received today and ask that God be with you and guide you on your path to accomplishing your goal. Then rest and prepare to do it all again tomorrow. You can do it because you have enhanced your life with a new goal and with God right there with you you won’t fail.
