Soul and Inspiration: Find your Spirit.
The soul and inspiration are closely connected. Your soul, or spiritual center is often overlooked and ignored. The real you is hiding there. Not the person you edit for the workplace, or the girl you learned to be for your parents. Probably not even the you that is in close relationships with friends or lovers. It's the you that dreams and wonders what else is possible for your life.
A couple of things are discussed on this web site that will help you get in touch with your true self, or spiritual center. The first is
Journaling
,and can be found by clicking on it. The second is Meditation. Previous chapters talked about
breathing
and
relaxation
. Now let's talk about finding your soul and the inspiration hiding with it.
Are you still having some trouble relaxing? Try this: 1. Breathe using abdominal breathing. 2. Stretch as high as you can, stretching your fingers high over your head and standing on your toes. 3. Roll your shoulders first one way (forward) and then the other (backward). First one at a time, and then both together. 4. Let your head fall forward and hang, then turn your head toward your right shoulder and then to your left. Go only as far as you can, then repeat gently until your neck has softened. 5. Now sit down and place your hands in your lap. 6. Begin breathing with your stomach, allowing each part of your body to relax. Once your body is relaxed it's time to find your spirit.

Do this: 1. Allow your mind to empty and imagine you are letting go of your body and sinking inward. (If sinking doesn’t work for you try letting go and floating). 2. Let yourself “be”; no thoughts, no judgments, no actions. 3. Relax into this peaceful emptiness, and feel it grow until it fills you. 4. You may just sit in peace and relaxation, or you may be lead on an interesting journey of memories or new ideas. It really doesn't matter. The point is to learn to be at peace with yourself. 5. When you are ready, turn your attention back toward your human body and rejoin the ongoing life around you.The more often you practice this exercise the more aware you will become of your true self or soul and inspiration will follow. Write any thoughts or memories in your Journal. You may return to Meditation page and choose another meditation chapter from the bottom of the page. Simply click here on
