What is the Spiritual Meaning of Numbers?
Let's look at the Spiritual Meaning of numbers from the Christian and Biblical perspective. The significance of numbers from a "lucky number" or "winning number" point of view will not be explored here. Numbers are used throughout the Bible, and some of them hold particular symbolism from the Jewish and Greek heritage. The Number One (1) This refers to unity as in Al one (all one) As in One God, One Body, and for the sisterhood, together we are one.

The number Two (2) It seems that when two are together Jesus would be present, or two would be believed because they were witnesses to each other. Also Jesus sent his disciples out in pairs--two. So The number 2 is associated with truth.
The number Three (3) The trinity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is associated with this number.
The Number Four (4) This number represents universal truth because it is associated with the four winds. The spiritual meaning of numbers is found in: Revelations 7:1) Four angels stood at the four corners of the earth and held back the four winds. We use the four directions as: North, South, East, and West.
The number Five (5) There are five books of Moses that comprise the Torah: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. There is a thought that when Jesus fed the multitude 5 loaves, they represented the five books of the Torah, and that when they were finished and 12 baskets of scraps were left they represented the 12 tribes of Israel. To mean that Jesus fed the Israelites with word of God. The number five is representative of teaching.
The Number Six (6) God created Man on the sixth day. This number is the number associated with us- the human being. It often times refers to the humanness of us, such as disobedience, imperfection, and rebellion. Our imperfection is tripled to become the mark of the beast: 666 The spiritual meaning of numbers is found in Revelation 13:18 ...let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666.
The Number Seven (7) Seven is thought to be the perfect number, the number of completeness. You can reach seven by starting with the number for universal truth (4) and add it to the Trinity (3) Seven represents completeness because it combines the universe and God.There were 7 days of creation. Seven notes of music to a scale. Israel was told to march around the city of Jericho 7 times. There were 7 years of famine and seven years of plenty in Egypt. Jesus told us to forgive 70 X 7, or completely.
The Number Ten (10) This number is associated with law and restoration.There are 10 commandments. Jesus healed (restored) 10 lepers.
The Number Twelve (12) This is the number for the church. There were 12 disciples and 12 tribes of Israel. Jesus was 12 when He first taught in the synagogue.
The Number Forty (40) Forty is associated with testing. It rained for 40 days, Moses and the Israelites were in the desert for 40 years, and Jesus fasted for 40 days. Jesus appeared to the disciples intermittently for 40 days after the crucifixion. Moses was on the mountain for 40 days.Goliath challenged the Israelites daily for 40 days.
The Number Fifty (50) Fifty is the number of celebration. The spiritual meaning of numbers occurs in the year of Jubilee (The land was supposed to rest every 7 years, and after 7x7 and one the land returned to its original owners and all debts were cleared. Pentecost (the coming of the Holy Spirit) took place seven sabbaths and one day after Jesus died.
The Number Seventy (70) This is the combination of the perfect 7 with the Law and Restoration number 10. I has been called the number of perfect spiritual order. 70 descendants make up the tribes of Israel. The great Tribunal was made up of 70 elders, and Jesus sent out 70 disciples.
