Your Inspiration

Let's find your inspiration. Mine caught me off guard. Here is an example of finding inspiration. After a tragic death in her family a woman decided to get some exercise to get those endorphins going. (Endorphins are a chemical that is released while exercising which stimulates happy feelings in your brain)She began to walk through the neighborhood each day. As she walked her mind worked to understand why she had suffered such a loss.

On a particularly sunny day with the sky a clean clear blue she walked through a treed block heading back up the hill toward her house. Something made her look up, and she saw a silent bald eagle flying low. He continued strait for her, and as he passed overhead he cocked his head and looked her straight in the eye.

She became calm for the first time in weeks, and instantly felt like everything was going to be okay. The woman swung quickly around to continue to watch this marvelous creature, but he was nowhere to be found. Now the sight of a Bald Eagle leaves her feeling the same way. As they pass over it's as if they check in and leave calmness and reassurance as a gift.

Eagles are extraordinary. They will eat at garbage dumps if they need to. They have survived man’s ignorance as we used fertilizers and pesticides until they were almost extinct. An Eagle mates for life and will defend their young to the death. And whether rising from a garbage dump or from nest the eagle flies with power, beauty, and grace.

Grace is a state of mind and spirit that shows in every action. Grace is about your spiritual condition. It is about self esteem, and about knowing no matter what, that you are meant for greatness. A greatness that is not defined by the world today. The greatness of being whole.

The eagle, whether it is with its mate or alone, flies and hunts with the same grace. It is aware of everything around him and yet is focused on his goal. He flies as if he can see further than today. As if from his perspective he knows where he is heading and the destination will complete his goals. With this attitude tasks are no longer drudgery. Life is turned into joy and grace becomes part of its spirit.

This picture of a misty morning at the lake is very indicative of a spiritual center. The day has not yet announced itself. It appears that it is in that dreamy not really asleep, but still foggy time before you really wake up. That is the time of day you get to choose what your day will hold.

The lake could be bright and sunny, or the fog could deepen and then cover the lake in a shroud of gray. Maybe you already know what your inspiration is. If you don't, you will, once you start to think about it and open yourself to the concept of gifts and grace.

Practice turning away from negative and toward positive, by writing down two good things you learned or experienced today in your journal. The more practice you get at focusing on your blessings the more gifts you will be open to receive.

Don't be surprised if your inspiration appears suddenly. It is a gift, just waiting to be unwrapped.
